There are several Senior Housing developments in my city (Louisville, KY) with more being planned. I'm NOT impressed. They seem to mostly be in the central parts of the city with many attempts to change building/residential codes to allow apartment type housing options. Feels like warehousing to me with limited shopping, limited public transportation availability, limited options for employment, and not safe for senior driving.
This is NOT the type of residence I want to look forward to as I age. I prefer a single house in an area that has many options available that I'm not limited to a 'normal' day with nothing available after certain hours. I'm 70 but do many household chores after midnight or shop/visit friends after 9 PM. I don't want my life restricted by many of the 'rules' of senior living complexes.
