OPINION: Police beat for weekend of Nov. 16-17

-A 34-year-old Jacksonville woman was arrested at 8:27 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of North Main Street on a criminal trespassing charge.

DISTURBANCES

-Police were called at 12:11 a.m. Sunday to a disturbance in the first block of Southvale Drive. Those involved were separated.

-Police were called at 9:01 p.m. Saturday to a disturbance at Dollar General, 1101 E. Morton Ave., involving customers arguing with an employee. The customers were told to leave.

-Police were called at 12:25 p.m. Saturday to a disturbance in the 1000 block of North Church Street. The man involved left the area.

-Police were called at 11:21 a.m. Saturday to a disturbance in the 100 block of West Independence Avenue. Officers spoke to those involved.

-Police were called at 1:07 a.m. Saturday to a disturbance in the 1600 block of West Walnut Street. The person involved left the area.

-Police were called at 2:45 p.m. Friday to a disturbance in the 900 block of North Clay Avenue. Those involved were separated.

VANDALISM

-A vehicle was damaged in the 500 block of West State Street, according to a report filed at 12:27 p.m. Saturday.
