Reddit is currently down for many who users, who are being met with an "upstream connect error" message and infinite loading times when they try to visit the site.
Reddit outage reports spiked heavily on IGN's sister site Downdetector just after 12pm PT and continue to impact usage. Reddit acknowledged the issue on X/Twitter and says that it's currently investigating.
Reddit is a major tech, gaming, and entertainment hub that claims nearly 100 million daily users, meaning its downtime leaves a major dent in the Internet. It hasn't been the only social media site experiencing issues of late, either. Bluesky has also been struggling with error messages and slow load times amid a large surge in users.
Reddit did not offer a timeline on when to expect service to be fully restored. We will update this story with more information as it appears.
