A special tribute will be held for one of three people killed in a shooting in Cary.

Tonight, family and friends will honor Erica Holton.

There will be an open mic night in Holton's honor at an event called 'City Soul Cafe' in Raleigh.

Friends tell WRAL she performed at local open mic nights, where she was known as "Mrs. E."

She was found shot to death inside a home in Cary on Monday, along with her son Xavier, and his girlfriend, Aminah Guy.

Guests attending the event will have a chance to sign cards, remember Holton's impact and are asked to wear purple, Holton's favorite color.
