Polish Food & Lemonade Grilled to Perfection for Monday Night Football - A Delicious Twist! News

The opportunity to enjoy an 18-inch Polish French bread pizza in Cook Country Forest Preserve is coming to an end soon. Justyna Haluch, known as the zapiekanka queen of Schiller Woods, is making a move with her cousin Damien to Christkindlmarket in Aurora starting from November 22. This unexpected relocation raises the question of what gingerbread has to do with a windmill, as Haluch transitions from the Woods to a new setting.

When asked about the possibility of bringing her iconic open-faced cheesy Polish street food to a different location, Haluch declined the zapiekanka but embraced the idea of serving traditional Polish cuisine. As a result, on November 18, Haluch will be bringing her I Love Grill & Lemonade food truck to Monday Night Foodball at Frank and Mary's Tavern in Avondale.

Aside from her famous zapiekanka, Haluch's food truck fleet offers a variety of options, including festival lemonade stands, beer gardens, Christmas cookie grazes, traditional Polish home cooking, and more. At the upcoming event, she will be serving a hearty combo platter featuring pierogi, sausage, kraut, and pickles topped with bacon bits. Additionally, there will be a pierogi combo with meat, potato, and cheese, garnished with bacon, green onion, pickle, and sour cream. For sausage lovers, Haluch will present a kiełbasa quartet comprising regular smoked Polish sausage, parówka, kiszka, and biała kiełbasa. To satisfy your sweet tooth, indulge in sweet cheese blintzes served with fresh fruit, whipped cream, and chocolate syrup.

This event promises a feast of abundance, starting at 5 PM on Monday, November 18, at 2905 N. Elston in Avondale. While Haluch's zapiekanka truck may still make appearances at the Woods on Tuesdays, be sure to check the I Love Grill & Lemonade Facebook page for updates.
