Recently, Bollywood star Alia Bhatt revealed her admiration for actor Akshaye Khanna, calling him her 'favorite' on her Instagram Stories while praising the movie Chhaava. The actress praised Akshaye Khanna - who played Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Chhaava - soon after giving a shout-out to Vicky Kaushal's performance as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
Alia Bhatt shared the poster of the film and wrote, "Akshaye Khanna, one of my favourite actors on-screen! As Aurangzeb, you were incredible @rashmika_mandanna so, so beautiful... those eyes!! The period drama, based on the life of the legendary Maratha King Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, has been announced tax-free in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the news at an event, and shared the video on X. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) approached Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for the tax-free status of the film.
"The Hindi movie Chhaava depicts the incredible story of sacrifice, bravery, selflessness, and sense of duty of the legendary Maratha child Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The movie is applauded by all age groups, and youth is greatly influenced by the story depicted in the movie," FWICE said in a statement.
Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar, features Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles. The film also boasts an ensemble cast including Diana Penty, Divya Dutta, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Ashutosh Rana. The film is an adaptation of the Marathi novel of the same name by Shivaji Sawant. Chhaava released in theatres on 14 February.
