EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Del Valle's impressive season continues following the Conquistadores win over Abilene Cooper in Bi-Districts to improve the program to a 10-0 record on the year.
This marks Del Valle's first Bi-District win and Area Round appearance since 2020. How they've been able to make it over the hump for the first time in four years: their ability to believe.
"It's exciting for the guys, this moment's not about us, it's about these kids," said head coach Rudy Contreras. "For these kids to experience a big win like they did here at home last Friday was big for them. It's their time, this group really believes in one another in the really tight. This what they've worked hard for, and now it's another opportunity that we've got to take advantage of."
"This group has a lot of energy, they just they don't take anything from anyone," said offensive lineman Aiden Serna. "They bring it every single day. This group really understands that we don't win games on Friday - we win them Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday when we practice."
Del Valle will face an 8-3 Lovejoy team Friday night, Nov 22 on the road.
