Four dead in carbon monoxide incident in Wakefield

Four adults are dead of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning in Wakefield.

The State Fire Marshal's Office said the four victims were found Wednesday inside a home at 2962 Province Lake Road (Route 153) in East Wakefield after Wakefield police responded to a request for a welfare check.

Reports indicated the call came from family members after the victims did not arrive at a Christmas gathering.

Autopsies are scheduled for Thursday to confirm the cause of the deaths.

There were reportedly no working carbon monoxide alarms in the home.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is encouraged to contact the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal's Office at 603-223-4289 or [email protected].
