BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) -- Lake Worth resident Dawn Michele Howard is in the Palm Beach County Jail Thursday night on multiple vehicular homicide and DUI charges. The charges follow a July triple fatal crash in the area of South Military Trail just north of Minor Road in Boynton Beach.
Grechy Almaguer-Perez, Alejandro Rodriguez, and Diego Cordova-Almaguer, all of West Palm Beach, were killed. They were in a Volkswagen Jetta slammed by Howard's Lexus RX350.
"The Lexus was traveling northbound on South Military Trail at a high rate of speed, approaching the intersection of Minor Road," said a PBSO Investigator in a report provided to BocaNewsNow.com. "The Jetta was traveling northbound on South Military Trail, approaching the 7882 block.
As the Lexus neared the intersection of Minor Road, the traffic signal cycled to yellow, and Howard accelerated to traverse the intersection before the signal cycled to red. As she continued northbound on South Military Trail within the outside lane, she entered a sweeping left hand curve. While traveling at a high rate of speed, (the Lexus) closed with (the Jetta) and violently collided with it. During the collision, the front of the Lexus violently impacted the rear of the Jetta."
Dawn Michele Howard, according to PBSO, surrendered to the Palm Beach County Jail at 8:24 this morning and was charged with three counts of DUI manslaughter and three counts of homicide.
