A hectic festive schedule of A-League Men's fixtures this December continues from Perth on Friday night, as the Glory take on Macarthur FC having finally picked up their first win of the season last time out.
The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this A-League Round 10 clash as Perth Glory look to kick on from their first win and end Macarthur's unbeaten streak in the process, including how to watch, kick-off times and all the latest team news.
Here's how to watch this A League Men's match in Australia.
This A League Men's Round 10 match takes place at HBF Park in Perth, Western Australia and kicks off on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 7:45 p.m. local time (AWST).
Here's how that kick-off time translates to the various Australian time zones:
Finally, off the bottom of the ladder, Perth will now look to kick on into the New Year against a Bulls side unbeaten in their last four games.
After not being able to buy a win for the first eight rounds of the campaign, Glory's breakthrough finally came in Queensland against fellow strugglers Brisbane Roar last weekend. Veteran David Williams' goal 21 minutes from time proved enough to win it, with Perth now sitting 12th on the ladder with five points.
However, they face a Macarthur side who are currently on their longest unbeaten run of the season, climbing from eighth to fifth in the table despite winning once and drawing three. They were on course for back-to-back victories against Central Coast Mariners last time out, but the defending champions pegged them back in the second half to draw 1-1.
David Williams being moved up front in Adam Taggart's absence worked a treat for Glory last time out, as he scored their first goal in three games and gave Perth their first victory of the campaign in the process. A switch to 4-4-2 by coach David Zdrilic could help to bring about a further run of results, with both veterans leading the line.
Perth Glory predicted XI (4-4-2 right to left): Cook (GK) -- Risdon, Canga, Mrcela, Warland -- Ostler, Pennington, O'Neill, Anasmo -- Williams, Taggart.
Daniel De Silva's 11th-minute goal looked to have set the Bulls on their way to a second straight win last time out, but despite Macarthur not being able to hold on for victory, he'll still form part of an attacking frontline including Marin Jakolis and their overall top scorer this season, veteran French striker Valere Germain.
Macarthur FC predicted XI (4-2-3-1 right to left): Kurto (GK) -- Adamson, Uskok, Jurman, Vujica -- Brattan, Hollman -- Jakolis, De Silva, Drew -- Germain.
Although Perth's first win in nine attempts this term could prove to be a watershed moment to spark a run up the table, we don't think they've got what it takes to pull off back-to-back victories just yet. Macarthur are fifth on the ladder after all and will be keen to extend their own unbeaten streak, and we think it'll be honours even between these two out West.
