A man died Wednesday after he was hit by a car in Whitehall Township.

County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said in a news release that Edward D. Tomcics, 75, was hit by a car about 6:55 p.m. in the 3200 block of Water Street.

Tomcics was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, where he was pronounced dead about 7:30 p.m.

Buglio said Tomcics, of Whitehall Township, died from blunt force injuries. The manner is accidental.

Whitehall Township Police and the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office are investigating the incident.
