Reddit down in mass outage as thousands of users say app & website 'not working'

POPULAR social media platform Reddit has crashed for tens of thousands of users worldwide today.

Reddit users have been unable to access the site, with pages not loading in properly and appearing blank.

More than 84,000 users across the US and the UK reported issues with the site around 10:20am ET (3:20pm GMT) on 21 November.

Both the website and the app appear to have crashed, leaving blank screens and never-ending loading icons on thousands of devices.

Users have taken to rival social media site X (formerly Twitter) to write about their woes, with some going as far as saying the outage is the "worst day" of their life.

"Reddit being down means my posts are missing out on potential traffic and upvotes and karma this is literally the worst day of my life," one user wrote.

Another added: "I guess Reddit is down. How else am I supposed to waste time looking at cat and guinea pig pictures?"

It's unclear what has sparked the disruption.

Reddit is currently investigating the issue, which it says affects desktop webpages, mobile webpages and the mobile app.

Just yesterday, the platform suffered a similar incident, according to Reddit's server status page, that had been resolved.
