Germany's Turbine will unleash the most powerful force of nature with their own 4K UHD Mediabook and SteelBook of Jan de Bont's Twister. Set to release December 5th, the new offerings will not only feature the classy classic original poster art on both editions but the 4K disc will be pressed on a BD100 disc with Dolby Vision HDR and the set will also include the remastered 1080p Blu-ray.
The damnable misery of being a physical media collector is when there's a rights discrepancy for a fan-favorite title. Do you jump the gun snag the domestic release now, or do you wait to see what the foreign markets bring to the table? Well, those who waited will be treated to a terrific new two-disc release of Jan de Bont's disaster weather epic in 4K with far superior artwork options. Fans will also enjoy the film in 4K with a disc that will include Dolby Vision HDR and will be pressed on a BD100 disc for a likely cleaner encode. The English Atmos track will be the same as we had here, sadly Turbine's exciting Auro3D 13.1 mix from their previous Blu-ray offering won't be carried over.
