Oklahoma's Luke Elzinga spoke to the media this week about Special Teams coach Deakin and that fake punt play.

What kind of effect does Special Teams coach Doug Deakin have on the room and what's your relationship been like with him?

Luke: He's just a very personal guy, you can talk to him about anything. He cooks up different things that we work on each week and he's just a real person who cares about his players. He brings a real positive vibe to the Special Teams room and just to the players around him because it's kind of a cool thing. You get to work with offensive and defensive guys so he just brings us all together and he likes seeing us succeed and we like making him proud.

How much have you guys practiced that fake punt play and when you got the call what was kind of going through your mind before that?

Luke: We've been cooking it up for a little while. I was just happy to be called when he called. I was just like okay, it's about time. I like doing fakes. I like throwing it so I'm just happy it worked out... I've done it before like when I was quarterback in high school back in the day. I've done fakes here and at my old school so it was just another call.
