Raw Ideology, known for his distinctive Techno sound and high-energy performances, took on this year's Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) with a fresh perspective: immersing himself fully in the bustling event, connecting with new faces, absorbing industry insights, and experiencing various live performances, he returns excited to continue his journey within the Electronic Music space. In this interview, Raw Ideology shares his thoughts on ADE 2024 and the highlights of his time in Amsterdam this past October.
Hey! Really good, still in the recovery process from ADE.
To start, can you tell us about your experience at ADE this year?
It was incredible, maybe my favourite so far, which is funny because I went by myself this time. I made so many great new friends and had a fantastic time at the conferences and meetings, not to mention the classic partying days. I've even made a vlog for my YouTube channel with some of the moments I could capture so people can feel the experience a bit.
Were there any trends or ideas that caught your attention?
I went to an Intercell party hosted by Chlar and saw some of the best Techno I've heard in years. It's pretty much the style I've been aiming to achieve, and it's amazing to see it growing into something bigger. Happy days!
What was your main goal in attending ADE, and do you feel you achieved it?
To be honest, I didn't expect much this year. My main reason for going was for two important meetings, but the whole experience turned out much better than expected.
This year was definitely better overall than last year -- more people and an even greater vibe.
What would you say makes ADE such an unmissable event within the Electronic Music community?
If you're an enthusiast or work in the scene, it's a must-experience for everyone. The bonding and experiences are unlike anything else I encounter throughout the year; it's like magic.
Did you attend any performances? If so, can you share your favourites?
Intercell, Awakenings, and Slapfunk were amazing parties. They all had different styles but were top-notch in delivering their unique messages.
How do you think your experiences at ADE will impact your work moving forward?
It always impacts my life in some way -- bonding with industry friends, opening up new opportunities, and all the learning that comes with it.
The three parties I mentioned before: Slapfunk, Intercell, and Awakenings. They were definitely my favourites.
If you can, I recommend staying in Amsterdam for a couple of days afterwards. Ride a bike every day, explore the museums and interactive experiences Amsterdam has to offer, and of course, eat lots of good food!
