Nov. 11 -- AMERICAN TOWNSHIP -- A man was taken to the hospital after his car crashed into a house at 2791 W. Elm St. on Monday afternoon.

According to the Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Matthew Clark, 54, of Lima, was traveling southbound on Blackburn Drive when he continued through the stop sign at the intersection of West Elm Street and traveled off the left side of the roadway into a window on the front left side of the house. The patrol's report said Clark either fell asleep or fainted.

Clark was taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita's Medical Center with possible injuries and was cited with failure to control.

The house is owned by Frank and Lakeena Cage, according to the Allen County auditor's website.
