DJI has released a new firmware update for its Dock 2 drone-in-a-box solution, bringing critical upgrades to enhance functionality and improve user experience. The Dock 2, a state-of-the-art drone docking station, is designed for fully automated drone missions. It supports the Matrice 30 series drones and integrates seamlessly with DJI FlightHub 2 for mission planning and fleet management.
The firmware update, version v10.01.3205, introduces features aimed at boosting operational efficiency and safety. One significant addition is support for Device Information Notifications. This feature allows users to receive email updates and access issue assessment results via DJI FlightHub 2, streamlining maintenance and troubleshooting processes.
Another major upgrade includes Vision Assist integration into DJI FlightHub 2. This tool enhances situational awareness by providing real-time obstacle observation in the drone's flight path, making it invaluable for operations in challenging environments.
The update also introduces an Emergency Landing feature. This safety measure enables users to land a drone during emergencies directly from DJI FlightHub 2. Once initiated, the drone cannot take off again, so users are advised to use it cautiously.
Another new functionality ensures the drone's beacon remains active even if it powers off and on, enhancing visibility and compliance with aviation safety standards.
Updating firmware is critical for compatibility across the Dock, aircraft, and remote controller. Users can apply updates through DJI FlightHub 2, DJI Assistant 2, or the DJI Pilot 2 app, depending on the component being updated.
