ESPN College Football Writer Claims One Team is 'Clearly' the Best in the Country

ESPN college football writer Paolo Uggetti contributed to ESPN's weekly college football power rankings on Sunday, providing commentary and analysis for a number of teams included in the top-25.

In particular, Uggetti was complimentary of Oregon, which was listed as ESPN's top team on Sunday. The Ducks have been ranked atop the AP poll since week nine, and Uggetti believes their placement has been well-deserved.

"The way Oregon is playing right now, however, no teams look to be able to match their level," Uggetti wrote. "The offense continues to get stronger behind quarterback Dillon Gabriel while the defense remains as stingy as ever."

Since its 32-31 win over Ohio State on October 12, Oregon has been practically unstoppable, outscoring its opponents 150-44. Meanwhile, Dillon Gabriel remains a key player in the Heisman race as the Ducks are two wins away from their second 12-0 regular season in school history.

"As the season has progressed, Dan Lanning's team has only become more confident in their brand of football and the results speak for themselves," Uggetti wrote. "During a season where top teams appear to be prone to losing on any given Saturday, Oregon has shown itself to be the opposite -- the Ducks are clearly the best team in the country and if they keep their foot on the pedal, they'll remain on top."

While teams like Texas and Ohio State have missed a beat here and there, Oregon has remained consistently excellent since its week two struggles against a clearly dangerous Boise State team.

At 10-0, the Ducks are one of just four undefeated teams remaining at the FBS level. Against Wisconsin on Saturday, they're listed by ESPNBet as 14.5-point favorites on the road.

In Madison, Oregon will receive its final road test before returning to Autzen Stadium to host Washington.

The Ducks and Badgers are set the face-off at Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. and the game will air on NBC.
