The Indiana Pacers need to make a trade before the NBA Trade Deadline in February. After losing backup centers James Wiseman and Isaiah Jackson for the season with Achilles injuries, the Pacers are the third-worst rebounding team in the league.
Myles Turner is the only true center left on the roster who's healthy, but his career average of 6.8 rebounds simply does not cut it. The Pacers have been linked to several backup centers amid trade rumors and at least one established starter, but recent reports suggest they could set their sights even higher.
Instead of adding someone to play alongside or behind Turner, recent reports from both The Sporting News and The Wright Way Network suggest that the Pacers could flip Turner, along with plenty of other assets, to the Philadelphia 76ers for Joel Embiid.
Embiid has only played in one game this season thanks to a knee injury, where he posted 13 points and three rebounds against the New York Knicks. The 2023 MVP is a two-time scoring champion who can rebound at a high level, and if Indiana can keep Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, and Bennedict Mathurin, adding Embiid into the mix would make them real title contenders once he finds his stride.

While a deal for the MVP is highly unlikely, the Sixers could be motivated to hand the reigns over to the more reliable Tyrese Maxey, although he is not as good as Embiid. Still, the Sixers are currently 2-9, 14th in the Eastern Conference, and might be desperate to kickstart a new era after "The Process" has failed to get out of the second round of the playoffs.
