Nine vehicles will vie for three titles in the 2025 North American Car of the Year Awards. The finalists include everything from rugged trucks with off-road attitude to a 1960s-throwback minivan (categorized alongside SUVs for award purposes).

Seven of the finalists have some electric propulsion, with five hybrids and two pure electric vehicles (EVs) on the list.

The North American Car, Truck, and SUV of the Year Awards are given in January. But the jury that grants the awards just winnowed the field down to a handful of finalists.

A panel of 50 automotive journalists, including our own Allyson Harwood, will select the winners. They'll choose from these nine:
