AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Fire crews were near Charles T. Walker Magnet School on Monday morning searching for a reported natural gas leak.

Neighbors reported a strong odor along Augusta Avenue a block west of the school, and fire crews were sent to find the leak.

They were still looking for it at 10:15 a.m.

Some residents said they felt they needed to leave the area because of the potential danger.

The area is along Wrightsboro Road east of 15th Street and south of R.A. Dent Boulevard in the Laney Walker neighborhood.
